Tatara Toki
Born in Kyoto. Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Horikawa Music School, majoring in flute.
Graduated from Doshisha University, Department of Philosophy and Ethics. Iaido 2nd dan.
The theme of his activities is how to resonate with the hearts of modern people with the nostalgic bamboo flute that approaches the Japanese soul. In order to pursue the possibilities of the shinobue, which does not have a solo piece in classical music, he composes and performs. Combining traditional Japanese classical playing techniques with techniques cultivated through studying Western music, his performance style that makes full use of advanced techniques has received high praise from all quarters.
His stage name, "Tatara," was inspired by the iron-making technique of the Middle Ages, Tatara. I caught a glimpse of the origin of the creative power of our predecessors at Okuizumo's "Nichitoho Tatara". In this way, we look at ourselves and entrust the unseen but definite things that have been handed down from our predecessors to us today, and entrust them to the flute as the source of our creativity. In addition to the original work collection CD, many participating CDs. A disciple of himself, presided over by Tokikai. Director of the Japan Shinobue Association.
Part-time lecturer at Niimi Public University in Okayama Prefecture.
Ueno Gakuen University Hogaku Circle Shinobue Coach.
